Ecotopia is a weekly program on KZFR 90.1 Chico, Tuesdays, 5-6 pm. Join Susan and Stephen Tchudi for interviews with national and local experts in issues ranging from water to population to homesteading to energy and from do-it-yourself to what-can-we do? Past program notes and recordings are archived on their website.
The title of the show comes from Ernest Callenbach’s book, Ecotopia, which describes a utopian society based on sustainability. It was a “cult classic” in the 1970s and still presents a brilliant view of what our culture could be like if we were to pursue sustainable practices.
Stephen and Susan are former college English professors who now live in Yankee Hill, California, pursuing retirement careers that include herb cultivation, music, volunteerism, community radio, and living on the farm with their son Cheetah and their amazing daughter-in-law Sammey.
