An Executive Order Expediting Research and Development Of Active Removal of Greenhouse Gases from the Atmosphere
Released just ahead of President Biden’s April 22-23 Leaders Climate Summit, CPR Initiative joined the groups Methane Action and Remineralize the Earth to urge the President to build upon his recent initiatives to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and to “expedite a research agenda for developing and deploying ways to remove excess greenhouse gases (GHGs) from the atmosphere.” The April 15 letter was signed by Daphne Wysham, Chief Executive Officer of Methane Action, Joanna Campe, Executive Director of Remineralize the Earth, and Dan Galpern, CPR Initiative General Counsel and Executive Director. John Fitzgerald, CPR Initiative Vice President and Legal Counsel to Methane Action, spear-headed the effort.
